The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a service agreement for the maintenance and repair of its MARKES International TD100-XR thermal desorption system, which is integrated with an Agilent GC/MS analytical platform. The agreement will provide preventive maintenance and repair services to ensure the continued operation of the system. The selected contractor will need to provide OEM-certified maintenance services, proprietary diagnostic software access, firmware updates, technical documentation, factory-trained personnel, and certified replacement parts.
• The system is used for high-throughput chemical analysis of fire gases, smoke emissions, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and combustion byproducts in support of multiple NIST fire science research programs.
• The contractor will need to have expertise with the proprietary interfaces between the MARKES TD100-xr and the Agilent GC/MS system to ensure compatibility, maintain analytical performance, and preserve data integrity.
• The contract will be awarded on a sole source basis to Agilent Technologies, Inc., which is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the GC/MS system and the only known source capable of providing comprehensive maintenance services.
