Annual Contract for Biomedical and Hazardous Waste Pickup and Disposal

Tarrant County is seeking bids for the pickup and disposal of biomedical and hazardous waste. The contract will be for a period of 12 months, with the option to renew for two additional 12-month periods. The contractor must have at least three years of experience in biomedical and hazardous waste removal and disposal, and must provide proof of TCEQ registration to transport treated and untreated medical waste. The contractor will be responsible for providing all personnel, transportation, equipment, and materials necessary to perform the services. The contractor must also provide evidence of qualification as a service provider and have established relationships with permitted disposal facilities. • The contractor must be able to handle various types of waste, including DNA extraction cartridges, formalin and water, inorganic salts solution, paraffin and xylene, spent acid in rinse water, spent organic solvents, and spent organic halogenated solvents. • The contractor must provide safety data sheets and EPA-approved manifests and tracking documents. • The contractor must provide a minimum of 30 days written notice of any changes governing the method of handling, removal, and disposal of hazardous chemical waste material.
