Description
The Town of Ayer is seeking bids for the 2026 Water Main & Drainage Improvements project. The project involves the removal and replacement of 6-inch cast iron water mains with 8-inch ductile iron water mains, replacement of water main appurtenances, hydrant assemblies, house service connections, and interconnections with other streets within the limits of work. The project also includes replacement of drainage infrastructure. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner.
• The base bid consists of the removal and replacement of 6-inch cast iron water mains with 8-inch ductile iron water mains.
• The work includes replacement of water main appurtenances, hydrant assemblies, house service connections, and interconnections with other streets within the limits of work.
• The base bid also includes replacement of drainage infrastructure.
• The Notice to proceed to start construction will be issued no earlier than June 1st, 2026.
• The time for completion of this contract is 120 calendar days following the Notice to Proceed to start construction.
