Description
The Cumberland County Tax Administrator is seeking proposals from qualified attorneys or law firms to provide legal services related to mortgage-style tax foreclosures. The selected firm will be responsible for initiating and conducting tax foreclosures, serving notices, completing title searches, and filing complaints. The firm must have experience with public and/or private sector clients and demonstrate successful experience with tax foreclosures and similar matters.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Initiating and conducting mortgage-style tax foreclosures
• Serving notices to all parties involved
• Completing title searches and filing complaints
• Providing monthly status reports and meeting with county officials as necessary
• Complying with all NC laws for mortgage-style property tax foreclosures
• Agreeing to no volume requirement and meeting with the County Tax Administrator, County Attorney, County Finance Director, and County Budget Director regarding foreclosure process as necessary
