Description

The City of Piqua is seeking qualified contractors to construct cast‑in‑place drilled pier foundations for self‑supporting steel transmission‑line poles along the Washington/Farrington Road T‑Line corridor. Seven drilled‑pier foundations (five at 70 ft, one at 71 ft, and one at 80 ft) are required, totaling approximately 45 cubic yards of concrete. The work must comply with Ohio prevailing‑wage statutes, include a 10 % bid bond, and be performed by a company capable of mobilizing heavy‑civil construction equipment, concrete placement, and reinforcement installation.

Budget estimate

$250,000 – $350,000

The engineer’s estimate for the work is $280,000. Assuming typical contractor markup (10‑20 %) and possible contingency allowances, the awarded contract is likely to fall between $250,000 and $350,000. Factors influencing the range include site‑specific geotechnical conditions, material price fluctuations, and the bidder’s proposed schedule.
