Description

Montana State University is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive audio and lighting services for large‑audience campus events, primarily in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. The contractor must supply, install, operate, and strike down a full line‑array sound system, stage monitoring, sub‑woofers, and a professional moving‑light package, as well as provide dedicated audio‑engineer and lighting‑designer staffing for the duration of each event. All equipment is vendor‑supplied; installation and operation must be performed by the vendor’s own personnel (no subcontractors for core work). The scope also includes pre‑event planning meetings, on‑site presence for four days (setup, sound‑check, event day), and post‑event reporting. • Supply and install QSC Wide Line 10/24‑box line‑array (or equivalent) with amplifiers, processors, microphones, cabling, Avid/DigiDesign mixer (or equivalent). • Provide 8 × QSC HPR‑122I powered monitor speakers, 4 × QSC‑MD218‑S subs, 32 × Elation Opti‑Quads, 16 × One‑K pars, and at least 12 moving lights (or equivalents). • Staff a qualified audio engineer and lighting designer for a 4‑day on‑site window (setup, sound‑check, event day) and coordinate with MSU Sports Facilities and rigging contractors. • Remove all equipment immediately after each event, provide a recap meeting or written summary, and comply with all MSU contract terms, insurance, and nondiscrimination certifications.

Budget estimate

$30,000 – $150,000

No contract value is disclosed. Based on the equipment list (line‑array PA, powered monitors, subs, 48 moving lights), staffing (audio engineer + lighting designer for four days), and typical market rates for arena‑scale AV production in the Mountain West, a single event could range from $30 k for a minimal configuration to $150 k for a full‑spec, high‑quality production. The final price will depend on equipment brand equivalents, labor rates, travel costs, and any additional services (e.g., extra rehearsals, extended on‑call time).
