A&E Services for Bond Hill Garage Expansion

The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is seeking a qualified firm to provide comprehensive architectural and engineering design services for the renovation and expansion of the existing Bond Hill garage facility. The selected firm will be responsible for advancing the project from concept through final design, including refinement of the preferred design, and preparation of complete construction documents and technical specifications. The project includes two phases: Phase A, which involves the addition of approximately 18,000 square feet to the east side of the existing garage, and Phase B, which involves the acquisition of three contiguous parcels and the construction of a new two-lane service drive. The firm will be required to provide a range of services, including architectural, engineering, and landscape design, as well as construction administration and inspection. Some key aspects of the project include: • The existing garage cannot accommodate 60-ft articulated coaches, so the maintenance area will need to be renovated for storage and expanded to enable servicing of the articulated vehicles. • The project must align with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) guidelines. • The firm will be required to provide a detailed project schedule and a quality assurance/quality control plan. • The firm will be required to make good faith efforts to include small businesses in the performance of the contract. The ideal firm will have experience in providing architectural and engineering design services for similar projects, particularly those related to transit facilities. The firm should also have a strong understanding of the requirements of the project and be able to demonstrate its ability to provide high-quality services.
