The City of Madison Engineering Division is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for the 2026 Badger Mill Creek Watershed Study. The study aims to update existing watershed models to reflect current conditions, identify areas of the stormwater management system that do not meet current performance targets, and understand how the current stormwater management system functions within the Lower Badger Mill Creek Watershed relative to pre-developed conditions. The scope of work includes reviewing existing watershed models, updating existing conditions models, executing updated existing conditions models, and evaluating flood mitigation alternatives.
• The consultant will review existing PC-SWMM models and supporting GIS data provided by the City.
• The consultant will update the modeled 2D surface in areas where the topography has changed since the initial modeling effort.
• The consultant will incorporate pipes larger than 12” in diameter and storm structures that are not reflected in the existing models.
• The consultant will update model hydrology in areas where land use or land cover has changed since the original modeling effort.
• The consultant will evaluate flood mitigation alternatives, including peak flow control and pre-developed conditions modeling.
