The Town of Wellesley is seeking a qualified firm to provide public engagement, transportation planning, and traffic engineering services for the Fells Route 9 – Weston Road Interchange project. The goal of the project is to redesign the Route 9 ramp intersections with Weston Road and Cleveland Road to increase safe access and visibility for local businesses, as well as improve pedestrian circulation and vehicular maneuvers. The selected consultant will work with MassDOT, the Town, and the community to develop a project and build community consensus around a preferred design. Key aspects of the project include: • Producing an actionable plan accepted by MassDOT and the Wellesley community • Improving mobility and accessibility for all users of the interchange and transportation systems • Improving vehicular circulation, parking, and access to businesses • Improving safety for all users, prioritizing the safety of students who travel through the intersection • Minimizing negative impacts on residential streets • Engaging stakeholders, including abutting neighborhood residents, school district, and business and property owners, in the design process
