The Navy’s Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking a single contractor to perform a FY28 Docking Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA) on the amphibious assault ship USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD‑8). The effort includes extensive maintenance, modernization, and repair work that will require large‑scale shipyard facilities, pier access suitable for an LHD‑class vessel, and substantial human resources to coordinate multiple trades. The contract will be awarded by March 2027, with work commencing in November 2027 and concluding by October 2029.
