Government Road Slope Stability Repair

The City of Richmond, Virginia seeks bids from qualified firms to provide general contracting services for the Government Road Slope Stability Repair project. The services include clearing and grubbing, asphalt placement, sidewalk, curb and gutter, erosion and sediment control, guardrail, pavement marking, water main, water service lines, deep soil mixing, and earthwork. The project aims to correct and repair the unforeseen, significant and ongoing slope and roadway failure along Government Road near the intersection of E Grace Street in the City of Richmond. The goal is to reopen the closed portion of Government Road and the Church Hill Dog Park entrance and build a five-foot wide sidewalk along the south side of Government Road. • The project has a period of performance of 305 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. • The contract type is a unit price type of contract agreement between the City and the selected Contractor. • The Contractor shall be a “Class A contractor” licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia, have a “Heavy Highway” designation, be and VDOT prequalified for the work type. • The Contract resulting from this Invitation for Bids requires the payment of prevailing wage rates. • The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids/proposals, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the City of Richmond to be in its best interest.
