Notice of Intent to Sole Source-Hamilton Company

The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Hamilton Company for the purchase, delivery, installation, and extended warranty of one Hamilton Microlab STAR Vantage 2.0 robotic workstation. This workstation is required to support the AFMES-DNA OPS mission of assisting with human remains DNA testing for the identification of US Service members. The Hamilton Microlab STAR Vantage 2.0 is the newest model in the Hamilton Microlab STAR suite of robots and is replacing the older Hamilton STARLET. • The contract will be for the purchase of one robotic workstation, including computers and software. • The workstation will be used for high throughput extraction, short tandem repeat amplification, and next generation sequencing of military DNA references and Family Reference specimens. • The contract will include installation and extended warranty of the robotic workstation. • The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. • There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement.
