The Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) is seeking proposals to prevent child abuse and neglect. The selected vendor will provide services that support the agency's vision of creating a comprehensive, community-informed, data-driven, high-quality, and equitable early childhood system. The services solicited through this Documented Quote (DQ) will focus on primary (universal, community-wide) and secondary (targeted, at-risk) prevention of child abuse and neglect. Vendors can apply under one of two funding tiers: Tier 1 ($10,000 - $49,999) or Tier 2 ($50,000 - $100,000). The project will serve one or more of the following priority populations: Native American/Alaska Native communities, Hispanic/Latinx communities, postpartum families, mental health among children under age 8, positive youth development for ages 15 to 19, families with a primary language other than English, caregivers and children eligible for services but not yet enrolled, families experiencing poverty, or caregivers with substance use and behavioral health disorders.
Some key points to consider:
• The project must align with one of the four investment strategies outlined in the Prevention Investment Strategy: Invest in Family Resource Centers, Invest in evidence-based programs, Invest in strategies to match families to appropriate services, or Invest in implementing strategies identified in the local Thriving Families Framework.
• Vendors must demonstrate readiness and preparation to implement the proposed project or program.
• The project must include measurable objectives, a realistic timeline, and a plan for sustaining impact beyond the grant period.
• Vendors must provide a detailed description of the project, including its intended goals, anticipated outcomes, and methods for tracking and assessing project outcomes.
