Notice of Intent to Sole Source 7 Tesla MRI Maintenance

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price commercial contract to Bruker Biospin Corporation for maintenance of a 7 Tesla Preclinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Bruker BioSpec 70/20. The contract will have a one-year base period and four one-year options. The University is seeking a vendor that can provide maintenance and repair services for the MRI scanner, which contains proprietary hardware and software. • The contract is for a 7 Tesla Preclinical MRI scanner • The scanner is manufactured by Bruker and contains proprietary hardware and software • Bruker does not have authorized distributors for service and repair • Third-party vendors do not have access to the necessary drawings, parts, and software necessary to properly perform the maintenance and repair of the scanner
