Description

The United States Air Force is conducting market research to identify possible sources capable of providing a next-generation Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC) boat and engine system. The current CRRC system has limitations in adverse weather conditions and is nearing the end of its service life. The new system should improve upon the current CRRC system by providing increased speed, maneuverability, reliability, and the ability to operate effectively in adverse weather conditions. Key performance parameters include maximum payload capacity, minimum speed, work space, deck, inflation system, and others. • The CRRC should transport four operators, one littered patient, and 200 lbs of operational equipment. • The CRRC should achieve a speed of 15 kts or greater with a Beaufort Wind Force 3 direct headwind. • The CRRC should have an integrated, pressurized-air deck and enough hand holds for each seated passenger. • The CRRC should be field-repairable and have a basic tool kit to address punctures, tears, and abrasion damage. • The CRRC should have multiple isolated inflation chambers to remain afloat in the event of a puncture/tear. Interested parties are encouraged to submit responses that demonstrate they presently have the technology and qualifications to provide the system described.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $20,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate due to the lack of specific information on the contract value. However, considering the acquisition of 56 CRRCs for full operational capability, the total contract value could be substantial. A rough estimate for the development and production of a single CRRC could range from $50,000 to $200,000, depending on the complexity of the design and materials used. For 56 CRRCs, the total contract value could range from $2.8 million to $11.2 million. Additionally, there may be costs associated with development, testing, and integration, which could add to the overall contract value. Therefore, a ballpark estimate for the total budget could be between $5 million and $20 million.
