RFO for Sr. Solution Architect

The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) is seeking a single senior solution architect to serve as the principal system architect and subject‑matter expert for AI‑enabled, cloud‑based data‑warehouse and analytics initiatives. The contractor will design, validate, and implement scalable, secure technology solutions, integrate generative AI models, lead data‑warehouse architecture, produce technical documentation, mentor teams, and provide production support. The engagement is hourly‑rate based, with an initial 24‑month term (extendable another 24 months) and an estimated workload of about 160 hours per month. • Minimum technical qualifications include ≥ 10 years enterprise architecture, ≥ 5 years cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) design, ≥ 3 years generative AI integration, and ≥ 5 years leadership of cross‑functional technical teams. • Must hold a current California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) IT contract and provide a current GSA pricing schedule. • Deliverables: architecture designs, LLM integration plans, data‑warehouse and ETL designs, documentation, weekly status reports, and approved timesheets; all work primarily on‑site at CalSTRS headquarters in West Sacramento. • Evaluation combines technical qualification (70 pts), cost comparison (30 pts), and an on‑site interview/assessment (100 pts) for a total of 200 pts.
