Road Maintenance Salt, Bulk

The City of Newark is seeking bids for the provision of road maintenance salt in bulk quantities for snow and ice control. The contract shall cover actual quantities ordered for delivery during the contract period, and payment shall be made at original unit prices for the accepted quantities of rock salt. The City anticipates its minimum order size to be 1000 tons per delivery. The bidder must have on-hand reasonable quantities of the materials required under this contract. The materials shall comply with the current specifications, and the City reserves the rights to inspect all materials before and after delivery, take samples & test for compliance, and return all material not meeting the specifications. • The contract period is not specified, but the contract may be subject to renewal. • The City reserves the right to reject bids and to waive informalities in accordance with applicable laws. • The bidder must provide a price quote, on a per-ton basis, for the material requested. • The prices quoted on the Price Schedule Sheet will remain firm for the term of the contract. • The bidder must have the capability to provide deliveries after normal business hours and on weekends in the event of severe weather conditions. • The delivery time frame is 2-5 days from order placement. • The bidder must weigh the delivery vehicle before and after loading the material, and the weight ticket must be submitted to the City at the time the material is received.
