Description

The Delaware Department of Transportation is seeking bids for the Access as Nature Intended: Taylors Bridge Resiliency Project. The project involves the removal of the existing Bridge 1-447 and the construction of a new structure. The new bridge will consist of multi-span concrete girders on newly placed wall pier foundations. The proposed bridge will be located slightly south of the existing alignment to avoid overhead utility lines. A full road closure with a posted detour is the preferred alternative for maintenance of traffic at this time. • The project requires the contractor to provide all labor and materials necessary for the completion of the work. • The contractor must comply with the Buy America requirements and the Delaware Contractor Registration Act. • The project includes the removal of the existing bridge, construction of a new bridge, and other incidental work. • The contractor must provide a performance-based rating system and comply with the Delaware Department of Labor's regulations. • The project has a completion time of 709 calendar days. • The contractor must provide a bid bond and a payment bond. • The project includes various pay items, such as clearing and grubbing, excavation, concrete work, and more.

Budget estimate

$10,000,000 – $50,000,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the scope of work and the materials required. The project involves the removal of an existing bridge and the construction of a new bridge, which is a significant undertaking. The cost of materials, labor, and equipment will be substantial. A rough estimate for the budget could be in the range of $10 million to $50 million, considering the complexity of the project and the materials required. However, this is a very rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on various factors such as the contractor's bid, the cost of materials, and the actual scope of work.
