Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source contract with Cepheid for annual service coverage of two GeneXpert diagnostic analyzers. The coverage includes preventative maintenance, repairs, parts, labor, module swaps, uptime guarantee, software updates, and loaner equipment. The period of performance will be for a base year and four one-year options.
• The contract is for a proprietary diagnostic system manufactured exclusively by Cepheid.
• All maintenance activities must be performed by Cepheid-certified field service engineers.
• No third parties are authorized or certified to perform these tasks.
• The required annual Xpert Check kit, performance verification procedures, proprietary diagnostics, and software updates are supplied only by the OEM.
