The contract will cover full design, engineering, permitting, construction, testing, and commissioning of a new well, with all labor, materials, equipment, and services required. Bidders must submit a sealed proposal following the Standard Proposal Forms, provide a surety statement and a bid guarantee of at least 10 % of the bid (capped at $20,000), and comply with numerous New Jersey statutes concerning public works, prevailing wages, and contractor registration. Documents are available for inspection at the Engineer’s office for a $75 copying fee. • Full scope includes removal of the existing well and installation of a new well system for the borough’s water supply. • Bids will be opened publicly on September 20 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Borough Hall; no explicit submission deadline is listed. • Contractors must meet NJ state compliance requirements (ownership disclosure, business registration, prevailing‑wage rules, and public‑works contractor registration).

Budget estimate

$250,000 – $450,000

No contract value is disclosed, but municipal well replacements in New Jersey typically range from $200 k to $500 k depending on depth, site conditions, and required treatment equipment. Assuming a mid‑size well (~200‑300 ft depth) and standard materials, a reasonable estimate for the contractor’s revenue would be roughly $250 k–$450 k. Factors influencing the final amount include site access, soil conditions, required pumps and controls, and any additional civil works (e.g., pump house, electrical).
