Biomedical Sharps Disposal

The County of Sarasota is seeking a supplier to provide scheduled pick-up and disposal of biomedical sharps containers and supply sharps containers. The contract is expected to last for 3 years. The supplier will be responsible for transporting biomedical wastes in accordance with Chapter 64E-16, Florida Administrative Code Biomedical Waste, and providing proof of permits to the County on an annual basis. The supplier will also be required to provide biomedical waste disposal bags, 30-gallon disposable corrugated cardboard boxes, and Multi-Purpose Sharps Containers with Sliding Lids to each location. • The supplier must have experience providing pick-up and disposal of biomedical sharps and supplying sharps containers within the past 5 years. • The supplier must be a registered Florida Department of Health Biomedical Waste Transporter. • The supplier must provide proof of insurance, including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Business Automobile Liability. • The supplier must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to biomedical waste disposal. • The supplier must provide a proposed pick-up schedule and operating plan to the County for approval.
