The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Renovate Wicks Hall for Nursing Simulation project at the State University of New York College of Technology at Canton.
Wicks Hall, constructed in 1972, is a 48,000 GSF, three-story building that houses classrooms, a lecture hall, and simulator and office space for the Nursing department. SUNY Canton received a SUNY Nursing Simulation Award to expand nursing simulation capacity in Wicks Hall, address regional training needs, increase enrollment, and become a Regional Center of Excellence in the nursing field.
The Project will renovate approximately 14,000 GSF of the basement and first floor of Wicks Hall to support the objectives identified in the SUNY Nursing Simulation Award. The Project includes reconfiguration of partitions to house the simulator expansion, new LED lighting and controls, audiovisual and IT infrastructure, fire alarm and security systems, and a new sprinkler system. The Project also includes the removal of hazardous materials and will provide upgrades to meet current code and ADA requirements. Renovation of HVAC systems and ductwork will be limited to only what is necessary to accommodate reconfiguration of interior spaces. The primary mechanical systems that serve the renovated portion of Wicks Hall will be addressed in a separate project.
The construction value is estimated to be approximately $8,257,000.
