DOWNTOWN DURHAM WAYFINDING PROGRAM– CEI SERVICES

The City of Durham is seeking a private engineering firm to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for the Downtown Durham Wayfinding Program. The project involves the fabrication, construction, and installation of custom signs with custom finishes on new and existing structures. The CEI firm will serve as the City's authorized representative and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the approved plans, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable NCDOT and FHWA standards. The firm will be responsible for overseeing and documenting critical field activities, including soil borings, foundation verification, and sign installation. Some key tasks include: • Attending and actively participating in pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and limited pre-bid support activities • Coordinating with the City, Designer, NCDOT, Contractor, and other stakeholders to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum • Reviewing final bid documents for completeness and constructability and assisting the City with bid preparation and responses to contractor inquiries • Maintaining meeting minutes, correspondence logs, a preliminary project diary, and all project records required for proper administration and audit compliance The City of Durham encourages the use of Small Professional Services Firms (SPSF) and disadvantaged, minority-owned, and women-owned business enterprises (DBE/MBE/WBE) subconsultant utilization on all LOIs, contracts, and supplemental agreements.
