Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking a contractor to provide Rocket Motor ICP Pressure Sensor 10k psi 0.5 mV/psi He Bleed, H2O cooled. The sensor should be able to survive repeated encounters with high pressure and high temperature environments. The contractor will be required to deliver 40 units of the sensor and 80 units of brass seals. The period of performance is no greater than 20 weeks for the first 10 units and no greater than 40 weeks for the remaining 30 units. Some key features of the sensor include: • Helium bleed gas to protect the sensor diaphragm and increase natural frequency of the cavity against the probe diaphragm • Water cooling with potable water • Ability to survive peak pressures of 15,000 psi • Temperature operating range between -100 degF and 250 degF • Withstand flash temperatures in excess of 6,000 degF • Ceramic coated tips to prevent erosion from combustion gases • Hermetically sealed • Electrical ground isolation of the probe from the outer body housing • Low-impedance output of less than or equal to 100 Ohms

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million, considering the complexity of the sensor and the quantity required. The cost of the sensor itself, the materials, and the manufacturing process will be the major factors influencing the budget. Additionally, the cost of testing and validation, as well as the cost of any necessary certifications or compliance, may also impact the budget.
