PHPA 3842: For Doula Capacity Building

The Maryland Department of Health is seeking information to support the expansion of the community-based, Medicaid-enrolled doula workforce in Maryland. The goal is to build a sustainable doula workforce to reduce maternal mortality and pregnancy-related mortality rates, especially for non-Hispanic Black individuals. The department is looking for information on how to increase the number of Medicaid-enrolled doulas, provide ongoing training and mentorship, and integrate doulas into hospitals as part of the care team. • The department is seeking information on company and solution information, including experience with community-based doulas and how products or services can support the vision for the future state. • The department is also seeking information on services that can support building a sustainable community-based doula workforce, including training, mentorship, and business development. • Respondents are asked to provide information on their company's history, current offerings, and customer base, as well as any recommendations for metrics, documentation, and information that the department should furnish in a future solicitation.
