Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis with Qunnect Inc. for the procurement of a Qunnect Automated Polarization Compensation System. The system will be used to stabilize the polarization of an aerial fiber in NIST's quantum network testbed and will be utilized by the Information Technology Laboratory (ITL), Applied and Computational Mathematics Division at NIST Gaithersburg MD campus. The system must meet specific requirements, including arbitrary polarization stabilization through time-multiplexing, max average polarization state fidelity of 98%, and fast 1-10kHz Polarimeter. The contractor shall provide a Firm Fixed Price Quotation for the Qunnect Q-APC system, consisting of an injector and compensator module. Some key features of the system include: • Arbitrary polarization stabilization through time-multiplexing • Max average polarization state fidelity of 98% • Fast 1-10kHz Polarimeter • Rack mountable, less than 3U • Automated telecom injector for polarization reference • Internal SFP laser at C band • Input ports for external laser • Input/output port internal optical switch for time multiplexing The system shall be delivered within 3 months after contractor receipt of order, and the contractor shall warrant the entire system for 36 months.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated in the document. However, based on the complexity of the Qunnect Automated Polarization Compensation System and the requirements specified, it can be estimated that the budget will be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the system is a specialized instrument for measuring and testing electricity and electrical signals, and the cost of such systems can vary widely depending on the specific requirements and features. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of the Qunnect Qu-APC system, the cost of delivery and installation, and the cost of any additional services or support required.
