Modification of 2 existing Lipsner Smith model CF8200P cleaning machines to enable usage of HFE (Hydrofluoroether) film cleaning solvent

The Library of Congress is seeking to modify two existing Lipsner Smith model CF8200P cleaning machines to enable the use of HFE (Hydrofluoroether) film cleaning solvent. The modification is necessary due to the EPA's restriction on the use of Perchloroethylene, a solvent that has been used in the film preservation process. The Library requires a contractor with the knowledge and capability to modify the existing cleaners to comply with the new standards. The contractor will need to perform the work at the Library of Congress Facilities. • The contractor must have experience with modifying Lipsner Smith cleaners to use HFE solvents. • The contractor must have the knowledge and capability to modify the existing cleaners to comply with the new standards. • The contractor must be able to perform the work at the Library of Congress Facilities. • The period of performance for the contract is one year.
