Ultra Low Noise Laser

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources for ultra-low-noise laser systems. The laser systems must meet specific technical specifications, including a center wavelength of 1550 nm, output power of over 100 mW, and a Lorentzian linewidth of less than 250 Hz. The systems must also have low relative intensity noise and high sidemode suppression ratio. The contractor must provide a benchtop housing with all electronics for control of laser temperature and current, as well as a DC power supply. The laser output must be either a bulkhead FC/APC connector or pigtailed polarization maintaining optical fiber with FC/APC connector. • The laser systems must be new and not used or remanufactured equipment. • The contractor must provide technical specifications, manufacturer name, model number, and country of manufacturing for the recommended equipment. • The contractor must describe performance capabilities of the recommended equipment and any customization options. • The contractor must identify any plans for changes in manufacturing location and provide relevant details. • The contractor must state whether the proposed equipment is manufactured in the United States and provide information on any existing Federal Supply Schedule contracts.
