Snow Removal and Ice Control Services - Resolicit

The Town of Herndon is soliciting bids from qualified firms with experienced, licensed operators to provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform snow and ice removal services on Town-maintained primary, secondary, and subdivision roads throughout the Town of Herndon. This will be in cooperation with the Town's snow and ice control operations crews. The contract is for one year with four optional renewals. The work will consist of snow removal and ice control from Town-maintained roadways. Key requirements include providing snow removal equipment with experienced, licensed operators, fuel, tools, parts, supplies, and all incidentals as necessary for safe and efficient snow removal operation. • The Contractor shall provide the snow removal equipment listed with experienced, licensed operators, fuel, tools, parts, supplies, and all incidentals as necessary for safe and efficient snow removal operation. • The work will consist of, but not be limited to, snow removal and ice control from Town-maintained roadways. • The Contractor shall ensure each spreader is equipped with a prismatic lens sheeting sign, mounted and clearly visible, on the rear of the spreader which reads KEEP BACK 100 FEET. • The Contractor shall be responsible for providing cutting edges/blades for their plows. • All vehicles and equipment must meet VDOT standards for signage and lighting. • All vehicles must have valid safety inspection, license plate, and registration.
