The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to perform grading and paving work at two locations within Lassen Volcanic National Park in California. The work includes grade reestablishment, drainage correction, subgrade preparation, compaction, and asphalt paving. The project locations are the Summertown Service Road and Maintenance Area, and the Mineral Headquarters Historic District. The contractor will be required to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, testing, traffic control, and incidentals necessary to complete the work as specified. The project requires compliance with National Park Service environmental protection requirements, and the contractor must implement dust control measures, protect adjacent vegetation, historic resources, and utilities, and dispose of spoils in approved locations.
• The total estimated combined paving area for both sites is approximately 31,400 square feet.
• The contractor must provide compaction testing and density testing may be required at random intervals.
• The finished surfaces must provide safe vehicle access, restore and maintain positive drainage, prevent standing water accumulation, support snow load and maintenance vehicle traffic, and provide a durable surface suitable for park operations.
• The contractor must warranty the asphalt paving for a minimum of one year against rutting, surface failure, premature cracking, and drainage failure due to improper grading.
