Description

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is conducting market research to better understand industry capability and expertise in performing spiral development, engineering services, and production of a SOF-peculiar munition. The project involves designing and manufacturing an air-launch vehicle that can be released from SOF fixed-wing air platforms utilizing the Common Launch Tube (CLT). The vehicle should have a maximum weight of 55 lbs, a diameter of 5.9 inches, and a maximum length of 42 inches. It should also have a passive seeker assembly with integrated Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and a warhead or payload. The system should be able to operate in a contested environment and have a minimum range of 75NM, a loitering time of 40 minutes, and a cruise speed of 50-100 kts. The project requires a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimate for initial planning purposes, and white papers should not exceed 10 pages. • The project involves designing and manufacturing an air-launch vehicle for SOF fixed-wing air platforms. • The vehicle should have a maximum weight of 55 lbs and a diameter of 5.9 inches. • The system should have a passive seeker assembly with integrated ATR and a warhead or payload. • The project requires a ROM estimate for initial planning purposes. • White papers should not exceed 10 pages and should be submitted via email to the primary point of contact.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $20,000,000

The budget for this project is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide a clear indication of the contract value. However, based on the requirements and the fact that the project involves designing and manufacturing an air-launch vehicle, it is likely that the contract value will be in the millions of dollars. A rough estimate could be between $5 million and $20 million, depending on the complexity of the project and the number of units to be produced. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of materials, labor, and testing, as well as the level of competition and the negotiating power of the contractor.
