AHEC-26911-B - Replace Transformers - 4 Buildings

The Auraria Higher Education Center is requesting bids from electrical contractors for the replacement of electrical transformers and associated gear in four buildings. The project includes the replacement of transformers, provision of new code-compliant arrestors, and the reuse of existing feed-thru inserts and arrestors. The contractor must also provide temporary electrical power during shutdown and reconnection of the transformers. • The project requires the replacement of transformers in four buildings: West 9th St. Park, East 9th St. Park, 7th St. Classroom, and Facilities Annex. • The contractor must provide new code-compliant arrestors at the Facilities Annex transformer. • The contractor must reuse existing feed-thru inserts and arrestors at the other buildings. • The contractor must provide temporary electrical power during shutdown and reconnection of the transformers. • The project requires the contractor to provide a portable generator to power life safety, security, and critical building equipment during shutdown. • The contractor must follow the oil sample testing requirement in the Specification 2612199. • The contractor must provide new counterpoise to meet the requirements detailed in 261219, 3.3.A.1.
