Professional Case Note Documentation Training for Probation Staff

The San Mateo County Probation Department is seeking a qualified professional trainer or firm to develop and deliver a comprehensive training program on effective and compliant case note documentation. The primary goal is to standardize the quality, legal defensibility, and accuracy of case notes across the department. The training program should equip staff with the skills to write notes that are objective, highly accurate, secure, and completed within strict timeframes. Some key areas of focus for the training program include writing mechanics and formatting, objectivity vs. subjectivity, case planning alignment, time management and compliance, data privacy, and mitigating risk. The selected trainer will work directly with the Department's Training Manager to customize a curriculum that aligns with internal standards. • The trainer should have at least three years of experience in providing services of similar size and scope. • The trainer should have experience delivering engaging, practical training to probation staff and law enforcement. • The trainer should be STC-certified or able to be STC-certified. • The trainer should provide a comprehensive training program that addresses the key objectives and learning objectives outlined in the RFP. • The trainer should be able to customize the course to meet the department's specific needs and policies.
