The contractor will be granted salvage rights to offset project costs. The project must adhere to the State of South Dakota's Best Management Practices to minimize environmental impact.
• The project will involve the thinning of ponderosa pine, spruce, cedar, and juniper trees to achieve an average spacing of 25 feet between trees.
• The contractor will be required to remove all material to be used for biomass utilization at no cost to the landowner or the State of South Dakota.
• The contractor will be required to specify the method of thinning slash disposal in their proposal.
• The project will be evaluated based on cost, expertise of personnel, resources available to perform the work, experience and proven history, availability to the project, familiarity with the project, proposed method of performance and project management techniques, proposed project timeline, and proposed biomass utilization.
