Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract

The US Air Force intends to award a sole source contract to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for support services related to the Surgical Skills Training Program. The estimated value of this action is approximately $1.05 million. UAB possesses unique qualifications, including its status as the only Level I trauma hospital within 25 miles of the Surgical Skills Training site, established infrastructure and training partnership, demonstrated performance history, and integration with existing Government training protocols. • The contract is for support services related to the Surgical Skills Training Program. • The estimated value of the contract is approximately $1.05 million. • UAB is the only responsible source capable of providing the required services due to its unique qualifications. • The Government reserves the right to determine whether a competitive procurement for this requirement will be conducted based on the information received in response to this notice.
