Talent Search Program

The Talent Search Program aims to identify qualified individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds with potential for education at the postsecondary level and encourage them to complete secondary school and undertake postsecondary education. The program publicizes the availability of, and facilitates the application for, student financial assistance for persons who seek to pursue postsecondary education. The program encourages persons who have not completed programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or reenter and complete these programs. Key services include: * Academic, financial, and college and career guidance * Support for students to complete a rigorous secondary school program of study * Assistance with postsecondary education enrollment and completion * Connection to talent marketplaces and workforce outcomes The program has an estimated available funds of $175,152,359 and an estimated number of awards of 175. The project period is 60 months. * Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education, public or private agencies or organizations, secondary schools, and combinations of these entities. * The program does not require cost sharing or matching. * The program uses a training indirect cost rate, which limits indirect cost reimbursement to an entity's actual cost or 8% of a modified total direct cost base, whichever is less.
