Description

The City of Englewood is soliciting qualified contractors to design, construct, and commission two High‑Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) pedestrian signals at the intersection of Oxford Avenue and Fox Street. The scope includes all labor, materials, traffic control, erosion control, striping, sign adjustments, curb‑ramp construction, concrete restoration, and required permits. The contractor must manage site safety, coordinate with city staff, minimize public disruption, and provide warranty documentation upon completion. • Install two HAWK pedestrian signal systems with associated poles, heads, and controllers. • Perform asphalt paving, concrete removal and replacement, curb‑ramp construction, and striping. • Provide traffic control plans, erosion‑control measures, and site safety management. • Obtain all necessary permits, inspections, and approvals. • Supply a performance bond (5% bid bond, 100% performance bond) and comply with city and county use‑tax requirements. • Deliver project within the anticipated schedule (approximately 10‑12 days of field work) and within budget.

Budget estimate

$150,000 – $300,000

Based on typical municipal HAWK signal projects, each signal system (including pole, head, controller, wiring, and associated civil work) can range from $70‑$120 k. Adding pavement removal, concrete restoration, curb‑ramp construction, traffic control, and permitting pushes the total to roughly $150 k‑$300 k for the two‑signal package. Factors influencing the final amount include site conditions, material prices, and any additional utility work.
