Engineering Services - Grit Removal and Influent Screen Study

The Saratoga County Sewer District #1 (SCSD) is seeking proposals from qualified engineering consulting firms to provide services for an evaluation of the district-owned grit removal system. The current system is in need of evaluation to ensure effective grit removal for the protection of downstream treatment equipment and processes. SCSD is also considering a dry weather screen with finer screening capability, and the evaluation shall include analyzing the ability to install such a screen. The scope of services includes reviewing the existing grit system, characterizing the influent wastewater grit, evaluating headworks/raw sewage pumping system hydraulics, preparing a report of feasible options for grit system improvements, and analyzing the existing headworks hydraulics for the addition of a more fine dry weather influent screen. • The project involves evaluating the current grit removal system and providing recommendations for improvements. • The project also involves analyzing the feasibility of installing a dry weather screen with finer screening capability. • The consultant will be required to provide a detailed report of the evaluation and recommendations. • The consultant will also be required to provide a high-level cost estimate of the proposed alternative. • The project requires coordination with SCSD staff and access to the WWTP Screen & Grit Building and Main Sewage Pumping building.
