Helmet Integration of Thera Tactics Enhanced Pulse Oximeter

The United States Department of the Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC) intends to award a sole source contract to Thera Tactics, Inc. for the development of a pulse oximetry system for use in tactical aviation. The system will be designed to monitor pilot heart rate, blood oxygenation, and environmental conditions in real-time, enabling early detection of physiological episodes or other adverse events experienced by aircrew. The contract will involve the integration of the pulse oximetry system into currently used and in-development tactical aviation helmets. • The pulse oximetry system will be designed to be resistant to high-G forces and will not negatively impact the wearer. • The system will be capable of accurate and fast response and real-time analysis of blood oxygenation (SpO2) and heart rate (HR) across various flight profiles and aircraft types. • The system will be designed to meet military airworthiness standards and will be tested for electro-magnetic interference (EMI) and windblast. • The contract will involve the development of a prototype and the testing and validation of the system.
