Clear Creek Corridor Renewal Project

The City of Bloomington Utilities is seeking a professional engineering consulting firm to provide engineering services for open channel drainage improvements for the Clear Creek Corridor Renewal Project. The project aims to convert the 100-year old limestone block open channel into a more naturalized stream channel with water quality treatment amenities. The selected consultant will be responsible for tasks including comprehensive drainage design, surveying, geotechnical analysis, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, public outreach, acquiring all applicable permits, contract documents, and construction cost estimates. The scope of services includes permitting, civil/site engineering, and landscaping. • The project will consist of a study phase, design phase, and construction phase. • The study phase will include the development of three technically feasible alternatives to reduce the regulatory floodplain and provide innovative stormwater treatment technologies. • The design phase will include the creation of a hydrology and hydraulics model to map the 1% Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP) floodplain for Clear Creek. • The selected consultant must be experienced in the CLOMR/LOMR process and have a design philosophy that integrates natural infrastructure and sustainability.
