The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is soliciting Letters of Interest (LOI) from firms or teams interested in providing Design Build services for the Red Line Hi-Rail Access Tunnel project. The project involves designing and constructing a new access point to the Red Line tunnel in Cambridge, MA, to accommodate equipment, labor, and material delivery. The scope of work includes creating a new access road, boat section ramp, and tunnel structure, as well as providing electrical and security systems. The project is expected to take 30 months to complete, and the estimated contract value is approximately $42,000,000. • The project requires a Design Build Entity to provide a complete design and construction service. • The MBTA will issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to shortlisted firms after receiving LOIs. • The project is funded with non-federal funds only. • A stipend is anticipated as part of this procurement. • The MBTA reserves the right to reject any and all submissions, waive informalities, or cancel this procurement.
