Biohazardous Waste Disposal Service

The National Institutes of Health is seeking a vendor to provide biohazardous waste disposal services to support the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments laboratory within the Pediatric Endocrinology Clinical Research Branch. The required service includes the collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of regulated medical waste generated from branch clinics and laboratory specimen processing activities. The service must support the handling and disposal of infectious or potentially infectious materials. • The service is required to be performed on a recurring basis with scheduled weekly pickup services every Tuesday. • The vendor must be able to handle and dispose of blood-contaminated items, used glucose test strips, gloves, and other materials exposed to bodily fluids capable of transmitting infection. • The vendor must be able to ensure continuous compliance with laboratory safety standards and uninterrupted research and patient participation activities. • The notice is not a request for competitive quotes, but any available small businesses may submit a written capability statement to demonstrate their ability to perform the requirement.
