2026 Emergency Stormwater and Sanitary Sewer Repair Projects

The City of Independence is seeking bids for emergency stormwater and sanitary sewer repair projects at various locations throughout the city. The projects include the removal and disposal of failed rock gabion walled channels, fill and grade existing channels, and construct reinforced concrete trapezoidal channels. The contractor shall be responsible for all site restoration, including concrete driveways, finish grading, sod, and street repair. The contractor must also coordinate with homeowners regarding access to lateral connections and prior to excavation. Some of the key requirements include: • Inspection, cleaning, and installation of concrete inverts • Rerouting of sanitary service laterals to existing sanitary sewer mains • Flowable filling of abandoned pipes and manholes • Replacement of broken lateral connections • Use of SDR26 or stronger for new lateral connections The city is looking for a contractor who can complete the work in a timely and efficient manner, while also ensuring that all work is done in accordance with the city's design and construction manual and relevant laws and regulations.
