Processing and Marketing of Curbside and Commercially Collected Recyclables

The City of Tucson is seeking proposals from qualified entities for processing and marketing of recyclable materials collected through the City's Single Stream Recycling Program, Neighborhood Recycling Centers, and commercial recycling programs. The selected contractor will be responsible for designing, constructing, and operating a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and providing comprehensive processing and marketing services for all acceptable recyclable materials. The contract term will be for 15 years, with the option for renewal for up to five additional one-year periods. • The City is considering two different ownership, operating, and siting scenarios for the MRF. • The contractor will be responsible for performing all services as outlined in the specifications. • The contractor must provide a detailed description of the means for enclosing recyclable material accepted by the MRF. • The contractor must comply with all local, state, and federal requirements, including those required by OSHA and industry standards.
