Description
The New York City Department of Transportation is seeking a qualified consulting firm to provide total design and construction‑support services for the rehabilitation/replacement of the historic Crocheron Park Pedestrian Bridge that crosses the Belt Cross‑Island Parkway (BCIP) in Queens. The scope includes comprehensive engineering design, coordination with multiple city agencies, seismic and pavement assessments, historic‑preservation evaluation, ADA‑compliant ramp design, construction‑phase administration, and required public‑outreach liaison activities. The contract will be awarded under a Quality‑Based Selection process with a 30 % MWBE participation goal and a community‑hiring requirement. The work is scheduled to run for roughly six years (2,192 consecutive calendar days) from notice to proceed.
• Provide full preliminary, detailed, and final design packages for a new pedestrian bridge, including structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, and architectural components.
• Conduct seismic vulnerability analysis, pavement condition assessments, and historic‑preservation eligibility studies, documenting findings in a Design‑Approval Document.
• Manage construction‑phase services such as bid‑document preparation, permit coordination, construction administration, quality control, and liaison to community meetings (no public hearing required).
• Meet NYC‑wide MWBE (30 %) and community‑hiring (1 hire per $500 k) goals, and comply with Local Law 34 and other statutory requirements.
