Description

The University of New Mexico/Hospital is proposing a sole source purchase of the ENROUTE Transcarotid Neuroprotection System PLUS and ENROUTE Transcarotid Stent System from Boston Scientific. The system is used in vascular peripheral cases for patients with severe disease of the carotid artery. The purchase is justified due to the proprietary nature of the product, which is only available from Boston Scientific. The contract term is for 3 years, with a total amount of $450,000. • The system provides transcarotid vascular access, introduction of diagnostic agents and therapeutic devices, and embolic protection during carotid artery angioplasty and stenting procedures. • The system is intended for patients diagnosed with carotid artery stenosis and who have appropriate anatomy. • The unique capabilities of the system include adequate femoral venous access, common carotid artery reference diameter of at least 6 mm, and carotid bifurcation is a minimum of 5 cm above the clavicle.
