Plan Check Consultants - Building Division

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a qualified consultant to provide professional plan check services in support of the City’s development review functions. The selected consultant will work collaboratively with City staff to perform comprehensive plan reviews, and assist in maintaining a consistent and high level of customer service for residents, contractors, and design professionals. Services will include evaluating plans for compliance with building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, energy, and accessibility codes. • The consultant will be required to provide professional consulting services, including but not limited to Registered California Engineers, CASp professionals, ICC or IAPMO-certified Building Officials, Plan Examiners, and other qualified personnel. • The consultant will be expected to collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers to address and resolve complex or unusual building and code compliance issues. • The consultant will be required to maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry practices related to plan review functions and CASp assessments. • The consultant will be expected to provide technical and professional guidance to City staff, other divisions, departments, and external agencies as needed. • The consultant will be required to monitor and evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of plan review service delivery methods, procedures, and workflow processes.
