Description

The Medical Readiness Contracting Office - West, Fort Sam Houston, is seeking potential sources to provide Zenlens Contact Lenses in support of Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) on Fort Sam Houston, TX. The lenses are custom-designed and manufactured for individual patients to address specific, often complex, ocular conditions. The key characteristics for the Scleral Contact Lenses include design and fit, fluid reservoir, material specifications, vision correction, compatibility, and patient comfort and safety. • The lenses must be larger than the cornea and rest on the sclera. • Each lens must be custom-fitted to the unique shape of the patient's eye. • The lenses must provide sufficient space between the back of the lens and the cornea to accommodate preservative-free saline solution. • The lenses must be made of rigid gas permeable (RGP) material with high oxygen permeability. • The lenses must be capable of correcting vision for both near and far distances, tailored to the individual needs of the patient.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide information on the quantity of lenses required or the price per lens. However, considering the custom-made nature of the lenses and the fact that they are for medical use, the price per lens could be relatively high. Assuming an average price per lens of $500-$1000, and considering the lenses are expected to last between one to three years, the total budget for a contract could be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000 per year, depending on the number of patients requiring the lenses.
