Description
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners is seeking a qualified attorney or law firm to provide public defender services to the Probate Court of Gordon County, Georgia. The selected provider will serve as an independent contractor and be responsible for all aspects of indigent defense within the probate court's jurisdiction. This includes representing indigent defendants in cases within the probate court's jurisdiction, providing timely and competent legal representation, and maintaining confidentiality and adherence to professional and ethical standards. The provider must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia and have at least two years of experience in criminal defense.
• The provider will be responsible for appearing at each arraignment date and/or trial dates on cases they are appointed to.
• The provider will represent indigent defendants in cases within the probate court's jurisdiction.
• The provider will provide timely, competent, and dedicated legal representation at all stages of the probate court process.
• The provider will maintain confidentiality and adherence to professional and ethical standards.
