Description
The County of Los Angeles Public Defender is seeking qualified individuals to provide as-needed removal defense representation in immigration courts and post-conviction relief in state courts for current and former clients facing or at risk of facing removal from the United States. The services would include providing immigration services, advocacy, and representation by directly representing clients in removal proceedings, post-conviction relief proceedings, immigration application benefit applications, and others. The contractors would be embedded into the Department and may not be able to perform any outside legal work during the period of the Work Order assignment.
• The RFSQ is soliciting SOQs from vendors within two categories: Attorney Services and Paralegal Services.
• Vendors must meet the minimum mandatory requirements for at least one category, including experience in removal defense and strong writing and communication skills.
• The term of the Master Agreement will be three years with two one-year extension option periods for a total of five years.
• The County will continuously accept SOQs throughout the duration of the Master Agreement to qualify vendors.
